In this episode, I delve into the profound concept of time as we near the end of 2024. By exploring the first law, which states that 'time is a measure of life,' I emphasize the importance of not wasting time as it equates to wasting life. We also consider managing time effectively, treating it as a rare and valuable resource. Additionally, we discuss how understanding and preparing for changing seasons can lead to thriving in life. Lastly, I stress that our relationship with time determines our success and that the ultimate purpose of time is to fulfill our destiny. I encourage you to use your time in 2025 to align with your purpose and fulfill your destiny, ensuring no moment is wasted.

Have you ever taken time to think about the concept of time? How do you think about time? Do you think people who thrive in life and people who discover their purpose and maximize that purpose think about time in a different way? As we come to the end of 2024, I want to take some time today to just reflect on the concept of time and share with you a few laws of time that I believe every person who is going to thrive in life should understand and take advantage of. let's begin with what I would call law number one and this law very simply states that time is a measure of life. Time is a measure of life. You've probably heard people say, don't waste my time, or I don't want to waste your time. I think that statement is much more powerful than we ever give it credit for. Because if time is a measure of life, then when someone is saying, don't waste my time, they are saying, don't waste my life. Think about that. That's really powerful. It also means that if I don't give enough attention to what I do with my time, if I don't give enough attention to what my time produces, then I would as well be wasting my life because a waste of time is a waste of life. I think those are very, very serious thoughts. And when we consider the fact that time is a measure of life, how we think about time and how we use our time becomes very, very different. Many people would, at the end of this year, Reflect on what 2024 was like for them. And at the start of 2025, people will write down goals, they will strategize, they will set objectives and things that they want to achieve in the new year. But really, just crossing from one year into another, really make any significant difference? What changes in moving from 2024 to 2025? You're still the same person. You still look like you look, you still talk like you talk, your habits probably would not change if you don't take any serious action about them. What changes from one year to another? It's just a measure of time. It just means that we've used a bit more time of what has been allocated to us because every single one of us has a limited time to live on planet earth. And as we cross from one year into another, I want you to think about the fact that the number of years you have to live on earth has just reduced by maybe one year. You have spent an additional year of the time that you have to live on planet earth. There are only a few things that you and I can do with our time. I've talked about wasting time and indeed time can be wasted. Time can be wasted. What does it mean to waste time? I believe that whatever we do with our time, that doesn't contribute to us fulfilling our purpose. Purpose is a waste of our time. Whatever is not preparing you for your purpose or helping you maximize your gift and your potential so that you can continuously fulfill your purpose is a waste of time. So I need to ask you today. Do you think you're wasting your time? What have you done with the time that you have already spent on planet earth? Because time can be wasted. The end of a year is a good time to think about how we spent our time. Have we used it judiciously? Have we invested it appropriately? Have we used our time to advance God's purpose for our lives? So time can be wasted. Secondly, time can be managed. Time can be managed and to manage time is to manage your life because time is a measure of life. Management, very simply, is the effective use of resources. So when a resource is used for its purpose to produce maximum results, then it is being effectively managed. So in the case of time, our time will be managed properly if we're using our time in a way that contributes to the maximum production of results that align with our purpose. Are you managing your time properly? Time is a rare resource because it's not a limitless resource. It's not an infinite resource. You and I have a limited time to spend on planet earth and indeed we don't even know how much time we have. We've just finished one year or we're about to finish one year and we're about to go into a new year. We don't know how much more time we have to live on this planet. That is even the reason why time should be managed properly because it is a rare resource because the rarer a resource is, then the more effective management is needed for that resource. So, number one, time is a measure of life therefore, time should not be wasted because wasted time is wasted life. When you manage your time effectively, you are managing your life effectively and time should be managed effectively because it is a rare resource. That's the first law of time I want you to think about as we go into the new year, 2025. The second thing I want you to consider, second law about time I want to share with you is that everything changes in times and seasons. Everything changes in times and seasons. I live in England and there's a joke, there's a running joke that you can have the four seasons in one year. In one day, you can literally have winter, spring, summer, and autumn just in one day, um, as you go about your business. But the reality is that there are four seasons in this part of the world, and there are changes, very visible changes that we observe when those seasons. You know very simply or very clearly that it's spring when the flowers begin to bloom and when the leaves on the trees begin to appear again, you know it's spring. When the leaves on the trees begin to fall, you know it's autumn. When it begins to get cold, you know it's winter. Winter is approaching. but you see, seasons also apply to us just as the color on the leaves change and the temperature, changes. Also, seasons, change in our lives. I think this is really important that we understand that when something is happening in our life then it is a season. Wisdom demands that we don't generalize or define our lives by a season. That we don't define our lives by a season. by a season. Whether it's a good season or a bad season. Wisdom demands that we appreciate the changing nature of times and seasons. If things are not going very well for you at the moment, if 2024 wasn't the greatest of years for you, if there were dreams that were not accomplished, if there were Disappointments in this year, 2024, I need you to know that it is a season and by the very nature of time, seasons change. 2025 can be a lot better. Do not make permanent decisions on something that changes. Do not make permanent decisions about your life based on a season that would change.. In the same way, if you've had a wonderful 2024, if things have gone very well, if your business has thrived, if you've thrived spiritually, if you've done very well and achieved all your goals, it's important to realize that seasons can change. And what that means is that you prepare for the seasons that may not be as good as the seasons that you've had. There's a story in the Bible about a young man called Joseph. Joseph was in Egypt. And God gave him wisdom to, advise the pharaoh that they should prepare for seasons of famine, even if they were in a prosperous season. He understood, that seasons, change and in the good seasons, we should prepare for the seasons that may not be as good as the ones that we're currently experiencing. So as we move in 2025, irrespective of what your 2024 has been, if it's been wonderful, if it's been not so good, I need you to know that it's not permanent, that bad times do change into good times, and that also good times are not permanent. That we should have the wisdom to plan for the times that may not be as good as the times that we have experienced. Those who thrive in life, people who fulfill their purpose People who become everything that God wants them to be are people who understand how to prepare for seasons even before the seasons arrive. They are able to read the signs of changing seasons and they put things in place so that when those seasons come, they are ready for those seasons. Changing seasons do not take them by surprise. So that's my second law for you to consider in this episode that everything changes with seasons. Law number three. Because everything changes with time and seasons, our relationship with time determines our success. Our relationship with time determines our success. What we put into time determines whether we are successful people or not. What we do with our time, whether we waste our time, whether we invest our time, whether we manage our time effectively, is what determines whether we are successful people or not. I need you to look at who you are today and where you're coming from. Where you have arrived in life today is very, very simply a matter of what you've done with your time. What you've put into your time is what has determined where you are today in life. How much knowledge you've put into your time. How much knowledge you used your time to acquire. How much you used your time to, apply the knowledge that you acquire. That's wisdom. That is what determines whether or not you are a successful person today, and I want to say to you that that is what will determine where you get to tomorrow in life. You know, the New Year, people make so many resolutions, people set goals and make their ambitions quite clear. But the truth is, if you're not willing to Put new things into your time. If you're not willing to do new things with your time, you will not accomplish those goals. There's no magic about it. That is the reality. That is the truth that it is what you put in your time, what you do with your time, that will determine what your life will be. Produces. If you're going to be a thriving person, if you're going to be a successful person, we'll be determined by what you do with your time. And I think the challenge with many of us is that we look at the big units of time. So we look at, we measure time in years until someone can say in 2025, I'm going to fulfill my purpose. I'm going to become everything God wants me to be. I'm going to make a difference in people's lives. But what we don't Often think about is that 2025 as a year is broken down into months. Months are broken down into weeks. Weeks are broken down into days. Days are broken down into hours. Hours are broken down into minutes. Minutes are made up of seconds. It is what you do with the seconds and the minutes and the hours and the days that will determine what 2025 produces. Your relationship with time, your relationship with the minutes of your day, with the hours of your life will determine whether you are a successful person and a thriving person in the new year. So think about different areas of your life. Think about your spiritual life. Think about your family and the relationships that matter to you. Think about your health. Think about your finances. What are you going to do with your time to improve those relationships? What are you going to do with your time to make sure that those relationships Accomplish and fulfill the goals that you may have set for the new year. So that's my third law of time for you to consider in this final episode of 2024. And as I wrap up this episode, my last law for you to think about today is that the purpose of time is the fulfillment of your destiny. The purpose of time is the fulfillment of your destiny. I say that again, the purpose of time is the fulfillment of your destiny. I talk about purpose a lot because purpose is all there is to life. If you don't fulfill your purpose, you've wasted your life. If your purpose is the one thing, that you were sent here to do. If your purpose is a primary reason for your existence, then if you don't fulfill that purpose, you've wasted your life. So the purpose of time, the reason you've been given time, is that you fulfill that purpose. That purpose is your destiny. It is your destination. It's the thing that you were sent to this world to accomplish. So, whatever you do in 2025, I want to say to you, ensure that your time Aligns with your purpose. Don't allow anybody or anything else define what you do with your time. Your purpose should set your agenda. Your purpose should determine what gets on your calendar. Your purpose should determine what gets your time. Your purpose should determine what you do with your time because everything that doesn't contribute to you fulfilling your purpose or traveling the direction of your destiny is a waste. of your time. It is a disruption of your destiny. That's my encouragement to you in this final episode of Thriving People in 2024. Use your time to pursue God's purpose for your life. Use your time to fulfill your destiny. Your destiny because your time is a measure of your life. Thank you very much for hanging with me in 2024 and I hope that what we bring you here and thriving people has been a blessing to you in this year in 2025. We trust God to bring you much much more rich. And, impactful content that will continue to move you in the direction of God's purpose for your life until you become everything that God wants you to be.
